Born in1903 in Yurborkas, Lithuania, he was an active Zionist throughout his life. Arrested and accused of attempting to hijack an aircraft in 1945 to flee the Soviet Union illegally to get to Palestine –Eretz Israel, he was sentenced by the “troika” to 8 years in the Gulag serving his sentence in labor camps in the Urals, in Chelyabinsk, and also in Ivdlag. Released in 1953 but was unsuccessful in his bid to get to Israel till 1979. He died in 1993. Remember & Save Association websites
